From April 1, 2026, pensions will be automatically recalculated for working pensioners in Ukraine. The changes apply to those who continued to work after the appointment or previous recalculation. This is reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Pension recalculation for working pensioners 2026: who will receive
Pensions will be reviewed for citizens who, as of March 1, 2026, have acquired at least 24 months of insurance experience after the appointment of payments.
In this case:
-
the recalculation is carried out taking into account the new experience
-
both previous earnings and new earnings obtained after retirement can be taken into account.
Pensioners who have not accumulated 24 months of experience but have waited two years since the last appointment or review of their pension also have the right to recalculation.
Conditions for pension recalculation: how payments will change
For those who have less than 24 months of insurance experience, different rules apply. Recalculation is only possible after the completion of a two-year period from the date of appointment or previous review of the pension.
In this case:
-
only additional acquired insurance experience is taken into account
-
earnings after retirement are not included in the calculation.
Recalculation is done automatically, there is no need to contact the Pension Fund.
The basis for the changes is the norms of the law on compulsory state pension insurance, as well as the relevant government decree.
This mechanism is applied annually and allows for the consideration of additional experience for those who continue to work after retirement.
It should be noted that today, about 5 million people are working in the labor market of Ukraine, while the number of pensioners reaches 9–10 million.
