The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine announced the departure of the first direct passenger trains of the Eurotrack from Uzhhorod to European cities - Bratislava, Budapest, and Vienna.

Ticket sales for the trains began on September 5, the day of the opening of the new section of the Eurotrack between Chop and Uzhhorod. This project became the first in Ukraine's history that was built from scratch and completed in less than a year, despite the war and challenges.

The project was financed by the European Commission (Connected Europe Facility program) and the European Investment Bank, in cooperation with Ukrzaliznytsia and the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.

According to information from the ministry, starting from December 2025, passengers will be offered convenient connections with domestic flights, and a new route No. 644/647 Zakhon' - Berehove - Borzhava will begin to operate, facilitating the connection between Berehove and Zakhon' - an important transfer hub. Tickets can be purchased on the Ukrzaliznytsia website and on the web pages of Hungarian and Slovak railways.
