Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations reported suspicion against a law enforcement officer from Rivne who caused a fatal road accident. As a result of the incident involving two pedestrians, one man died on the spot, while the other was injured. This was reported by

The accident occurred on August 8 around 17:30 near the village of Braniv in the Rivne region. Behind the wheel of his own car, the law enforcement officer was performing a maneuver, drove onto the roadside and hit two pedestrians. As a result of the road accident, a 47-year-old man died at the scene, while his 34-year-old companion sustained bodily injuries, but his life is not in danger.
The suspect is detained and has been selected a preventive measure
It is noteworthy that a sharp smell of alcohol was felt from the law enforcement officer, however, he categorically refused to undergo an examination for drunkenness, which was recorded by medical professionals in the presence of witnesses.
Currently, the suspect is detained. The court has selected a preventive measure for him - detention without the right to make bail. The law enforcement officer faces up to eight years in prison with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles.

On August 9, a traffic accident occurred in Khmelnitsky region, in which five people died. The accident happened around 21:20 on the highway 'Krasyliv - Teofipol' near the village of Yuzyn.
