The government approved the Veteran Code: what will change for defenders

Уряд затвердив Кодекс ветеранів: які нововведення чекають на захисників України.

Today, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated the need for the implementation of a comprehensive veteran policy that should provide support for Defenders at all stages of their lives.


One of the important steps on this path is the development of the Veteran Code, which will consolidate all norms regarding the status, guarantees, and support for veterans. This document will be submitted to the Parliament for further consideration. The government also plans to launch a new medical program aimed at addressing the consequences of injuries and burns, as well as creating public veteran spaces for receiving services directly from the government.


“The goal of all these steps is to help veterans successfully return to civilian life and have the support of the state at every step,” emphasized Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

The government of Ukraine has made a number of decisions to improve the living conditions of veterans, including the creation of the Veteran Code, a new medical program for addressing the consequences of injuries and burns, and the establishment of public veteran spaces for receiving services. The goal of such initiatives is to help veterans successfully feel part of civilian life again and have the necessary support from the state.
