Prime Minister Svyrydenko Orders: Critical Infrastructure to Be Cleared of 'Illegal' Connections

Прем'єр-міністр Свириденко доручив усунути несанкціоновані підключення до критичної інфраструктури.

Review of Lists of Critical Infrastructure Objects

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko has ordered a review of the lists of critical infrastructure objects to disconnect those wrongfully connected from power supply. This decision was a response to identified cases of unauthorized connection to the energy grid that require urgent regulation.

The Importance of Inspections in the Energy Sector

Head of the Association of Utility Consumers Oleg Popenko pointed out the need to disconnect 'illegal' and 'legal' consumers from critical infrastructure. According to Popenko, the power supply system is suffering from the influence of family ties, nepotism, and corrupt schemes, which hinder the effective functioning of the energy system.

  • Inspections by the State Energy Inspection are planned for 2024.
  • Monitoring compliance with legislation in the field of electricity supply.
  • Identifying all cases of wrongful connections.

This initiative aims not only to clean the energy system but also to improve its transparency and efficiency.

Planned inspections by the State Energy Inspection in 2024 could become an important step in the fight against corrupt schemes that negatively affect the quality of energy supply. It is crucial that these measures help not only identify violations but also restore public trust in the country's energy system.
