The President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, renowned Olympic champion Vadim Gutsait, expressed his opinion on the participation of Russia and Belarus in sports competitions.

Gutsait noted that for over 4 years, Russians and Belarusians have not been in world sports, but unfortunately, circumstances have changed. At the upcoming Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, Russia and Belarus will not compete as states; only individual athletes will participate as neutral athletes.

"The changes in recommendations concern youth and junior level athletes. As for adult athletes, everything remains unchanged," Gutsait emphasized.

Each international federation decides whether to admit athletes from Russia and Belarus to their competitions. More information can be found in the video interview with Vadim Gutsait.

The participation of Russia and Belarus in sports competitions at the youth level will be limited, and athletes from these countries will compete as neutral participants. Each sports federation has the right to decide whether to allow them into their competitions.
