Security Forces Recognized with State Awards

A new decree, number 471/2026, has been signed by Ukraine’s President to award state honors to members of the country’s security forces. The recognition covers 203 personnel from the National Guard of Ukraine, with 77 of those awards given posthumously.

Additionally, 36 rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have received state honors. The decree also includes 98 members of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, 87 of whom were recognized after their deaths. Furthermore, 36 officers from the National Police of Ukraine were awarded, with 17 of these honors granted posthumously.

This decree highlights the importance and acknowledgment of the contributions made by security personnel who carry out their duties under challenging conditions.

Significance of the Awards

These awards serve as a testament to the dedication and sacrifice of military and security personnel in the face of modern-day challenges. Recognizing their role in safeguarding the nation’s security and stability is a crucial step in boosting morale and elevating the prestige of service within state institutions.

This decree may also help attract new recruits to the security forces and increase public trust in law enforcement agencies.

In addition to the recent recognition of security personnel, it's important to note that two Ukrainian brigades have also been honored for their bravery. This further underscores the government's commitment to acknowledging the valor and sacrifices made by those serving in critical roles during times of crisis.
