Targeted Strikes on Yaroslavl Refinery and Rostov Airbase
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has verified that an overnight operation struck the Yaroslavl oil refinery and a military airfield in Rostov-on-Don. The offensive was carried out by a coordinated effort involving the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate, and the Foreign Intelligence Service. The attack successfully destroyed one Antonov An-12 aircraft, two Antonov An-26 planes, and three helicopters.
Following the strikes, large fires and secondary explosions were observed at the targeted locations. Satellite imagery analyzed by the 'Crimean Wind' group shows that most of the blazes at the airfield are concentrated around the aircraft and helicopter parking zones. The Yaroslavl refinery, operated by Slavneft-YANOS, is the largest oil processing facility in northern Russia, with an annual refining capacity of approximately 15 million tons. This makes it a critical asset for fueling Russian military operations.

Zelensky stated, “Last night, thanks to the combined efforts of the SBU, Unmanned Systems Forces, Main Intelligence Directorate, and Foreign Intelligence Service, we successfully targeted the Yaroslavl refinery. The Security Service also precisely struck the Rostov military airfield—confirmed destruction includes one An-12, two An-26 aircraft, and three helicopters.”
He expressed gratitude to Ukrainian servicemen, emphasizing that their daily efforts are making the war increasingly tangible for Russia, and urged the nation to pursue peace.
