The Swiss Federal Court confirmed a four-year disqualification of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. This marked the end of a scandalous story that began in December 2021, when a prohibited heart medication was found in the athlete's sample.
The doping scandal led to the annulment of Valieva's results at the Olympic Games and the redistribution of medals. Her defense attempted to challenge the sanctions, but in the court's final ruling, all arguments were dismissed as insufficiently substantiated. Now the athlete will have to serve her disqualification until December 2025.

Currently, another Russian athlete, freestyle skier Anastasia Tatalina, has appealed to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation to allow her to compete in the 2026 Olympic Games. Tatalina is linked to the Russian military club CSKA, which has ties to Russia's military activities in Ukraine.
