Italian senator demands investigation into asset storage of Russian officials: details

Italian senator from the Italia Viva party Ivan Skalforotto stated that the government should conduct an investigation into the schemes of Russian officials who store assets in Italy. He expressed his position after it became known about the illegal asset management schemes of the speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko.

'I believe that the government should use all necessary tools to investigate the matter and develop an action plan. Russia is a hostile country to us,' the politician emphasized.

The senator expressed concern that personal sanctions are ineffective and called on the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy to pay attention to this issue. The response to Russia's hostility is that Skalforotto urged to be decisive and stop the activities of Russians supporting Putin, particularly in connection with cyberattacks and criticism of the Italian president by the Kremlin.
