Princess of the Netherlands Amalia has begun training as a reservist in the armed forces at Defensity College. She is the first female member of the Dutch royal house to enter military service. Amalia has received the lowest ranks in the armed forces: a third-class sailor in the Royal Navy and a third-class soldier in the Royal Army and Royal Air Force.

The part-time study program at the college includes basic military training, but due to a hand injury sustained by Amalia in June, this stage has been postponed. The princess started with theoretical training, which includes weapon knowledge, leadership, map reading, and ensuring safety. She is also working in the administrative headquarters of the Ministry of Defense.

Enlistment process and future participation in combat actions

Amalia underwent mandatory medical and psychological testing, as well as security checks, just like all new recruits. During enlistment, no one avoids participation in everyday routines, regardless of their status. Regarding the possibility of the princess participating in combat, historian Ben Schunmaker's views are uncertain, as the constitutional reform of 1848 limited the military role of the monarch in the Netherlands.

In connection with the discovery of unidentified drones in Norway and the Netherlands, the issue of security in these countries has been raised. In the Netherlands, the runway at Schiphol Airport was even closed due to suspicious objects in the air.

The daughter of the King of the Netherlands has decided to dive into military affairs and has begun training in the armed forces. This has sparked considerable public interest and raised some questions about her future participation in combat actions, despite constitutional limitations regulating the role of the monarch in the military life of the country.
