The Pension Fund of Ukraine has announced the main reasons for which pension payments to citizens may be suspended in 2025, and provided detailed instructions for resuming payments. This information concerns millions of Ukrainian pensioners who must know their rights and obligations to avoid issues with receiving social payments. This is stated on the official website of the Pension Fund.
Pension payments have stopped - where to turn to
If a pensioner suddenly stops receiving payments, they need to immediately ascertain the reason by personally contacting the territorial office of the Pension Fund or submitting a written request. An alternative option is to use the official Pension Fund portal through the personal account.
"The resumption of pension payments is carried out by decision of the territorial office of the Pension Fund within 10 days after clarifying the circumstances and the presence of conditions for resuming the payment", the fund officials say.
Reasons for the suspension of pension payments in Ukraine
The main reasons for the suspension of pension payments according to the legislation are:
-
Fake documents - discovery of the fact of appointing a pension based on forged documents or incorrect information.
-
Emigration - relocation of a citizen abroad for permanent residence.
-
Account inactivity - absence of funds movement or non-receipt of payments for six months.
-
Loss of status - removal of a person's disability status or change of employment status.
-
Lack of identification - failure to undergo mandatory physical identification.
-
Change of life circumstances - completion of education by the child-beneficiary of the pension or other changes in status.
Additionally, payments may be suspended due to the exclusion of the bank from the list of authorized financial institutions serving pension programs.
To prevent issues, pensioners are required to timely inform the Pension Fund about changes in personal data in the personalized accounting system, plans to travel abroad, and other circumstances affecting their right to receive a pension.
