PrivatBank to Introduce New Cash Withdrawal Limits for Clients in 2026

В PrivatBank планують запровадити нові обмеження на зняття готівки для своїх клієнтів у 2026 році.

PrivatBank's New Cash Withdrawal Limits

In 2026, PrivatBank will implement new daily cash withdrawal limits for its clients, as mandated by the National Bank of Ukraine's Resolution No. 18. These changes will affect various cash access methods, including branch tellers, ATMs, the 'Cash Without a Card' service, cashback at retail stores, and withdrawals made abroad.

Specific Withdrawal Limits

Under the new rules, the daily limit for withdrawing cash from a hryvnia account via a bank teller is set at 100,000 UAH. For foreign currency accounts, the daily limit is the equivalent of 100,000 UAH. When withdrawing cash from cards issued by other banks at PrivatBank terminals, clients are limited to 20,000 UAH per day. For the bank's own cards, the standard daily withdrawal limit is 100,000 UAH, with a sub-limit of 40,000 UAH allowed in a single transaction within any three-hour window. For certain client categories subject to enhanced financial monitoring requirements, this three-hour limit is reduced to 20,000 UAH.

PrivatBank also offers a cardless cash withdrawal service. The first transaction using this service is capped at 4,000 UAH, while subsequent operations allow up to 20,000 UAH daily, with a maximum of five transactions. At supermarket and gas station checkouts, the maximum cashback amount is 6,000 UAH.

  • Supermarkets offering cashback: ATB, Silpo, Fozzy, Fora, VARUS
  • Gas stations: WOG, OKKO, Ukrnafta (up to 5,000 UAH), BRSM-Nafta
  • Pharmacies: The 'Bila Romashka' chain

Furthermore, PrivatBank will charge a 2% commission for cash withdrawals made abroad. For hryvnia cards used overseas, the limit is set at 12,500 UAH (or equivalent) over a seven-calendar-day period. Foreign currency cards allow withdrawals of up to the equivalent of 100,000 UAH per day. To guarantee access to large sums at a branch, the bank recommends ordering cash in advance via the Privat24 app or by calling 3700.

The National Bank of Ukraine's introduction of these new cash withdrawal limits at PrivatBank aims to enhance financial security and monitor monetary flows within a dynamic economic environment.

These policy shifts may alter customer habits, as lower limits could encourage more deliberate use of cash and promote the growth of cashless payments. This could also impact businesses reliant on cash transactions, particularly in the retail and service sectors. These measures are part of broader regulatory trends in Ukraine's banking sector aimed at increasing transparency.
