Automation of Property Transfer Notifications
Experts from the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Zaporizhzhia Oblast explained that individuals do not need to inform about the transfer of real estate themselves, as this process is automated. According to the new regulations, the state registration bodies for property rights are obliged to transfer information to tax authorities free of charge.
Information about changes in ownership is submitted centrally in electronic form. This means that reporting occurs quarterly within 15 days after the reporting period ends, and the State Tax Service database is updated without the former owner's involvement. Thus, citizens can be assured that information about ownership changes will be accounted for without additional effort on their part.
Citizens' Rights in Case of Discrepancies
In case of discrepancies, citizens have the right to verify the data. For this, it is necessary to provide originals of the relevant documents. The assessment and payment of the tax may be conducted based on title documents before official data is received. This simplifies the procedure for those who sold real estate and reduces the risk of errors in reporting to tax authorities.
These changes in legislation aim to simplify the process of property transfer and reduce the administrative burden on citizens.
The automation of reporting allows avoiding delays and errors that may occur as a result of manual data entry. This is especially important in a rapidly changing real estate market, where timely information about owners is critical for ensuring proper taxation.
