Over Three Years, the '(Not) for Beauty' Initiative Has Restored Health and Confidence to 64 Ukrainian Women

Протягом більше трьох років ініціатива '(Не) заради краси' допомагає 64 українським жінкам відновити віру в себе і покращити своє здоров'я.

The '(Not) for Beauty' Initiative

Over the past three years, the '(Not) for Beauty' initiative has provided crucial medical and psychological support to 64 Ukrainian women affected by Russian aggression. Led by the UNBROKEN Center in partnership with various organizations, the project aims to erase the physical and emotional scars of war, helping women regain their beauty and self-assurance.

Women from 16 different regions across Ukraine have taken part in this program. Throughout its duration, the initiative has delivered more than 500 medical services, including:

  • reconstructive treatments
  • laser scar correction
  • cosmetic procedures and psychological counseling

More than just treating injuries, the project focuses on both the physical and emotional rehabilitation of women, recognizing the deep impact of trauma.

This initiative emerged as a response to the challenges of our time. While the past cannot be erased, we strive to create conditions that empower women to believe in themselves again, find strength to move forward, and build a better future. This is the core value of the project.

In the context of ongoing conflict, supporting women who have endured trauma is more critical than ever. '(Not) for Beauty' provides not only medical care but also helps women restore their identity and reclaim their lives.

A Holistic Strategy for Recovery

The '(Not) for Beauty' project exemplifies the importance of a comprehensive approach to healing war-related injuries. Combining psychological support with medical treatments fosters effective recovery, which is essential amid Ukraine's continuing war. Beyond medical aid, the initiative plays a vital role in the social reintegration of women, helping them reengage with society and lead active lives.

In addition to initiatives like '(Not) for Beauty', the importance of comprehensive support for women facing health challenges is increasingly recognized. A recent effort by Ukrainian businesses has successfully raised 1.5 million UAH for psychological assistance to women battling breast cancer. Such collaborative endeavors highlight the urgent need for holistic care in the face of trauma. To learn more about this important initiative, visit the ongoing support for women's health challenges.
