U.S. Envoy at YES Forum Reports Significant Breakthrough in Peace Talks

Американський посланець на форумі YES поділився важливими новинами про успіхи у переговорах щодо миру.

Breakthrough in Peace Negotiations

At the YES conference on February 24, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff announced a significant breakthrough in peace negotiations achieved over the last eight to nine weeks. Witkoff stressed that the progress made in this short period surpasses what was accomplished in the previous four years. He linked the start of this advancement to the initial meeting in Geneva, where a framework was proposed that temporarily sets aside territorial disputes. This approach represents a notable shift in diplomatic strategy for the conflict.

Meetings and Key Agreements

The Geneva meeting involved discussions on security protocols from the U.S. and Europe, as well as a crucial arrangement known as the 'Prosperity Agreement.' The YES conference was organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and held to mark the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The forum serves as a key platform for discussing Ukraine's future and international support.

On February 26, the head of Ukraine's negotiation group, Rustem Umerov, scheduled meetings with Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Scott Bessent. Witkoff expressed optimism for building on the current success in the peace talks, noting that the trilateral meetings are productive and that work continues between them.

"A peace agreement is impossible until the Ukrainian people are confident that war will never happen again." - Steve Witkoff

Witkoff assured that the United States will do everything possible to help find a just peace solution so that everyone in Ukraine can live in peace.

The announcement of progress in the peace talks signals an intensification of international efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Meetings between key figures like Steve Witkoff and Rustem Umerov could become a vital step toward achieving stability and security in the region. The continuation of dialogue and support from the U.S. and European partners may play a critical role in shaping Ukraine's future and ensuring its territorial integrity.
