After the fare change in Kyiv, a one-time ride in public transport costs 30 UAH; however, regular passengers can pay around 23-25 UAH thanks to packages and monthly passes. The new system has been in effect since July 15, 2026. This is reported by Politeka.
The city authorities explained the fare increase by the rising costs of salaries, electricity, fuel, and transport repairs. After calculations, the planned cost of a trip was set at about 31 UAH, while the fare was set at 30 UAH.

The new system provides discounts based on the number of purchased rides:

1-9 rides - 30 UAH each;

10-19 - 28.90 UAH;

20-29 - 27.80 UAH;

30-39 - 26.60 UAH;

40-49 - 25.50 UAH;

50 - 25 UAH.
A package of 50 rides costs 1250 UAH. If you buy the same number of one-time tickets at 30 UAH, you will have to spend 1500 UAH. Thus, the savings amount to 250 UAH.
For those who use transport daily, monthly passes are available. A package for 46 rides costs 1088 UAH, for 62 - 1463 UAH, for 92 - 2156 UAH, and for 124 - 2888 UAH. In the latter case, one ride costs approximately 23.3 UAH.
An unlimited monthly pass costs 1828 UAH. It becomes more economical than one-time tickets after about 61 rides per month.
Old tickets at 8 UAH in Kyiv will remain valid until September 14, 2026
Transport can be paid through the application «Kyiv Digital». It offers one-time QR tickets, topping up transport cards, and monthly passes.
Tickets purchased before July 14 at the old fare of 8 UAH can be used until September 14, 2026. After that, unused rides will not be lost: their value will be converted into cash equivalent and credited to the transport card balance.
Students are entitled to a 50% discount. Students receive a 75% discount in summer, and during the academic year can use transport for free.
It is worth noting that due to damage to educational institutions as a result of the attack on Kyiv on August 27, students of the gymnasium will be able to start the academic year in neighboring educational institutions.
