Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Kateryna Troyan.
Kateryna died on June 5, 2025, during a combat mission in the Pokrovsk direction of Donetsk. Despite a severe injury, she was evacuated alive to the Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro, but unfortunately could not be saved. Heartfelt memories of the brave warrior
Sad news for the 'Specialists' family. Our Kateryna Myau Troyan is gone. Just recently, you were happy - your photos were viewed by Zaluzhny himself. You worked, led the direction, helped the team. And today - we remember you with warmth and gratitude. We planned to record an interview. Now only memories remain. About a specialist who changed her life to join the fight. About a person with a big heart,” wrote Sarakhan.
Kateryna Troyan was born on April 28, 1993. She was the only daughter in the family. She voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a deep understanding of the struggle for freedom and independence.
The memory of a true heroine
As Ihor Lutsenko wrote, there is something terribly wrong about girls dying at the front.
“FPV operator with blue hair from our Podolsk party. She served in the Airborne Forces, went through the Kursk campaign, but this time did not survive the Pokrovsk direction - she was brought to Mechnikov still alive, but they could not save her. In my memory, death in war makes girls incomparably beautiful, but even without yesterday's news she was very beautiful in her own way, thin and tall, with this dyed hair, in a funny kigurumi or in a hat with cat ears. There is something terribly wrong about girls dying at the front, something particularly wrong - that slim and tall ones die, something exceptionally unnatural - that girls with blue hair die,” wrote Ihor Lutsenko about Kateryna Troyan.
A petition on the president's website states that Kateryna carried out over a thousand successful combat sorties with FPV drones. She participated in the most difficult sections of the front, including the 'Kursk campaign'. She was an incredibly talented warrior who combined combat effectiveness, humanity, sincerity, and complete dedication.
