Problem with funds for the construction of an artesian well

The Kyiv Prosecutor's Office is demanding to recover over 590 thousand hryvnias from the contractor who built the artesian well in Obolon due to inflated work costs. A corresponding lawsuit has been filed in the Economic Court of Kyiv.

According to information, the losses to the Kyiv city budget amount to nearly 490 thousand hryvnias, while fines total about 100 thousand hryvnias. The contract for performing the works was concluded between the specialized water management communal enterprise 'Kyivvodfond' and a private company. The construction of the artesian well took place on Vyshgorodskaya Street in the Obolon district of Kyiv.

Control over the use of budget funds

This case has become a vivid example of control over the use of budget funds and adherence to financial discipline in public procurement.

This situation illustrates the importance of transparency in the use of budget funds, which is critically important for ensuring the effective operation of state enterprises. It also underscores the need for thorough inspections during the execution of state orders to avoid similar cases in the future. The Prosecutor's Office continues to actively work on investigating similar cases, reflecting a growing attention to financial discipline at the local level.
