Man’s Death Linked to Conscription Procedures
In January 2026, a man died at a Kyiv hospital after being involved in military mobilization measures. He had been admitted with fractured ribs and chest trauma. According to the victim, the injuries were inflicted by police officers and personnel from the Territorial Recruitment Center and Social Support (TCC and SP). Despite being hospitalized, he succumbed to his injuries several days later.
Following his death, no autopsy was performed, and the body was released to the family for burial without any forensic examination. This decision has raised serious concerns among the public, the victim’s relatives, and investigators, as key questions about the cause of death remain unanswered.
'As a result, today society, the victim’s family, and the investigation still lack answers to the most critical questions: what exactly caused the man’s death and whether his injuries were directly linked to the fatal outcome,' said Dmytro Lubinets.

The investigation is being conducted under two legal articles: one concerning the abuse of authority by police and TCC and SP officials, and another regarding the failure of medical professionals to properly perform their duties. The Kyiv City TCC and SP has not yet commented on the case.
