Ukrainian prosecutors have uncovered serious financial crimes in the defense sector. Research has established that the state suffered losses amounting to hundreds of millions of hryvnias. Among the suspects are the heads of the Defense Ministry's Procurement Department, commanders of military units, and other individuals. The total losses exceed 248 million hryvnias.
One of the facts of the crime pertains to the procurement of substandard uniforms for the Armed Forces, which resulted in losses of over 230 million hryvnias. Another case is related to unsuitable software that cost the state nearly 2 million hryvnias. In total, prosecutors have reported suspicions against 16 individuals and sent indictments to court against 12 individuals.
The consequences of these crimes had a serious impact on the proper provision of the military and the security of the country as a whole. As a result of the investigations, facts of the supply of low-quality goods, food fraud, and other violations were discovered, which caused significant harm to Ukraine.
