Ukrainian resolution on Chernobyl: a victory for diplomacy has been recognized on the international stage. Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga emphasized that the decision was achieved through difficult negotiations, where aggressive attempts at political manipulation by Russia and its allies did not divert from the goal.

Thanks to the hard work of diplomats, it was possible to maintain the initiative and pass the resolution in the UN General Assembly. The Ukrainian side refused to agree to Belarus's attempt to divert attention from Russian aggression and crimes against Ukraine in the context of Chernobyl through a hastily submitted draft resolution.

'The Ukrainian delegation decided not to yield, presenting its project taking into account all important aspects related both to Chernobyl and Russian aggression,' noted Andriy Sybiga.

As a result of these efforts, the Chernobyl dossier now remains within Ukraine's competence and is an important part of the nuclear safety issue in the context of Russian aggression.
