The Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, Denys Ulyutin, held a meeting with the Head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Ukraine, Harshat Virk. The main topic of discussion was countering human trafficking and cooperation within the framework of Euro-integration efforts.
Ulyutin emphasized that combating human trafficking is a priority for Ukraine. The Ministry focuses on prevention, timely detection of victims, assistance and reintegration, as well as the development of digital solutions to ensure interagency coordination.
During the meeting, they discussed the preparation of a new State Program for Combating Human Trafficking, which should meet European standards, as well as issues of digitalization of processes for identifying victims. UNODC representatives confirmed their readiness to continue supporting Ukraine in protecting and assisting victims of human trafficking.
During the meeting, the parties discussed priorities in the fight against human trafficking and the cooperation of international organizations in this direction. They also agreed on some practical steps for further cooperation.
