Mental health requires care – and a safe environment where one can receive professional, timely help without stigma and prejudice.
The Mental Health Center, established at the Nadvirna Central Hospital, is a space where people are helped to cope with stress, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and the consequences of traumatic events.
The Center's team – psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, a psychotherapist, and nurses – works with a single goal: to help an individual regain a sense of support and stability. For them, caring for patients is more than just a profession.
“It is a sense of meaning when I see that a person feels better. Each patient is like a mirror that reveals something new in me,” shares Larysa Sulyatitska, a psychotherapist at the Center.
The Center provides comprehensive assistance – from early diagnosis and prevention of complications to full psychiatric and psychological support. Evidence-based approaches are applied in the work: cognitive-behavioral therapy, positive psychotherapy, schema therapy, and logotherapy.
In 9 months, over 4,000 people have received help and support here. The most common requests involve low mood, sleep disturbances, anxiety, apathy, fatigue, irritability, aggression, difficulties in relationships, and loss of meaning.
Story of Successful Recovery
One recovery story is shared by Khrystyna Pankiv, a clinical psychologist and head of the Center. A military officer who experienced the war, liberated Kherson, and was considered missing for a long time came in with PTSD symptoms – insomnia, trembling, stuttering, and weight loss. Thanks to treatment, psychotherapy, and gradual recovery, he was able to return to a stable life. Later on, he shared words that Khrystyna will always remember: “I have entered psychology. You are the first one I told this to.” This is not just a step into a new profession – it signifies an internal transformation.
“For me, it is an honor to be not just a specialist, but a person who inspires others to go into the profession to help,” Khrystyna shares.
This story exemplifies that even after deep traumas, lost bearings, and life upheavals, it is possible to find meanings and new supports. And specialists are nearby and will help on this journey.
Significant attention is paid in the modern world to mental health issues, as well as the accessibility and quality of psychological help. The Mental Health Center located at Nadvirna Central Hospital provides a wide range of services for patients, creating a safe environment and supporting them on the path to recovery and restoring mental well-being.
