Power Outage Halts Operations at Ukraine's Tisa Border Crossing with Hungary

Відключення електроенергії призвело до зупинки роботи на прикордонному переході Тиса між Україною та Угорщиною.

Border Crossing Operations Suspended

A power outage has forced the temporary closure of the 'Tisa' border crossing point between Ukraine and Hungary. As a result, all entry and exit processing for both people and vehicles has been suspended. Authorities are currently working to restore the electricity supply. These disruptions come as Ukraine continues to manage significant pressures on its border infrastructure following the full-scale invasion.

Separately, a temporary restriction on vehicle traffic has been in effect since February 16 at the 'Solotvyno - Sighetu Marmației' crossing. On weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, vehicle processing is halted, though pedestrian crossing remains unrestricted at this location.

Reconstruction and New Developments at Crossings

Reconstruction is ongoing at the 'Bronnytsia - Unguri' international crossing on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border in the Vinnytsia region. The cost of this renovation project exceeds 162 million Ukrainian hryvnias. In other news, a new pedestrian crossing was officially opened on January 14 within the 'Uzhhorod - Vyšné Nemecké' checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Slovak border.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine advises travelers to consider this information when planning trips abroad.

These developments highlight ongoing changes to Ukraine's border checkpoint operations, which may impact international freight and passenger travel. Restoring power at 'Tisa' and progressing with the 'Bronnytsia - Unguri' reconstruction are key steps toward improving infrastructure and convenience. However, the temporary vehicle restrictions at 'Solotvyno - Sighetu Marmației' could complicate journeys for drivers, making it essential to check for updates before travel.
