Updated Charging Protocols at Resilience Hubs

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) has established new regulations for charging personal devices at its nationwide network of Resilience Hubs. These guidelines specify which items are permitted and which are restricted. Priority access to power is given to mobile phones, power banks, and flashlights. Charging high-capacity power stations, such as EcoFlow units, is contingent upon the technical capacity of the generator at a specific hub and is only allowed with the approval of the on-site coordinator.

Generator resources at these hubs are finite. Attendants must assess the situation to ensure equitable energy distribution for all visitors. It's important to note that connecting a large station with an approximate power draw of 1–1.2 kW or more can overload a generator, potentially leaving other users unable to charge their essential devices.

Restrictions on High-Power Device Charging

Currently, no specific law or regulation exists that sets a strict wattage limit for devices. Therefore, decisions regarding the connection of high-power equipment are made locally, taking into account the generator's technical capabilities and the immediate needs of those present.

The implementation of these new charging rules underscores the critical importance of managing resources wisely during emergencies.

In conditions of constrained energy supply, priority is given to devices deemed vital for communication and personal safety. These measures reflect how emergency services are adapting their operations to meet public needs during the ongoing crisis, balancing technical limits with humanitarian requirements.
