Trump and Putin Hold Phone Call
During a recent phone conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the latter stated that a peace agreement regarding the war in Ukraine would not be reached before the end of the year. This information was disclosed by Ukrainian journalist Yulia Zabelina, citing her own sources. According to Zabelina, Putin 'almost directly' indicated that Trump should not expect the deal to be signed by year's end.
Zabelina's sources also reported that Putin is being urged to believe Russian forces can seize Donbas by the end of the year. As a result, the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia, with U.S. involvement, is currently on hold. Zabelina noted,
“Negotiations are indeed on a certain pause right now, although we are at least in contact with the Americans... But there is no deadline for effective decisions regarding the negotiation process.”- Yulia Zabelina.
Risk of Russian Invasion
Meanwhile, a fighter from the 'Freedom of Russia' legion shared his perspective on achieving victory over Russia, emphasizing the need to fully exhaust the enemy and force them into endless waves of mobilization. The threat of a Russian invasion of Europe is shifting from theoretical to real, as Vladimir Putin runs out of alternative ways to escape the deadlock in Ukraine.
These developments highlight the growing tension in the region and the complexity of the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia. The lack of progress in peace talks could signal further escalation of the conflict, raising concerns among the international community. The next steps taken by the parties will significantly impact the situation in Ukraine and stability across Europe as a whole.
The ongoing uncertainty surrounding peace negotiations is further complicated by Putin's potential new territorial demands, as reported by the Financial Times. This development could significantly alter the dynamics of the conflict and the prospects for resolution, emphasizing the need for keen attention to the evolving situation in Ukraine.
