Putin honored Deputy Commander of the Russian Navy Mikhail Gudkov


President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin posthumously awarded Deputy Commander of the Russian Navy Mikhail Gudkov the second Gold Star medal. This was reported by the Russian news agency Interfax, citing Glavkom.


«For courage and heroism displayed during the special military operation, to award the Hero of the Russian Federation Major General Gudkov Mikhail Evgenyevich the second Gold Star medal (posthumously)», – the decree states.

In addition, Putin awarded the 155th Marine Brigade the title 'named after twice Hero of the Russian Federation Major General M. E. Gudkov'.



Twice Hero of Russia Mikhail Gudkov


Mikhail Gudkov became the first individual in the history of Russia to receive the title of Hero twice, reported the head of the Kursk region Alexander Khинштейн on his Telegram channel. Gudkov died in Kursk as a result of a Ukrainian strike, which was confirmed in the Russian Federation on July 3.


He was appointed Deputy Commander of the Russian Navy in March 2025, and he received the title of Hero of Russia back in October 2023 for courage and military achievements during the Russian-Ukrainian war.



Putin posthumously awarded Deputy Commander of the Russian Navy Mikhail Gudkov the second Gold Star medal for courage and heroism. Also, the Marine Brigade was named 'after twice Hero of the Russian Federation Major General M. E. Gudkov'. Gudkov became the first individual in the history of Russia to receive the title of twice Hero of Russia.
