Fraudsters are using new methods of attack on internet banking

The Cyber Police warns citizens that criminals have actively started using new ways of fraud related to gaining access to internet banking. The most common scheme is that fraudsters call under a popular pretext, trying to convince people to reinstall the notorious mobile banking app.

'Yes, fraudsters can obtain personal data of users to access internet banking. After that, they ask citizens for a code that comes via SMS or a phone call from the real bank's tech support. Having received this code, the fraudsters have access to the bank account and can steal money.'

After such authorization, fraudsters send links to schematic programs, trying to convince that these are official bank apps through messengers.

The Cyber Police urges all citizens to follow safety rules, check bank contacts, and carefully download banking apps. It is recommended to use only official communication channels and call the bank's specified number, as well as carefully study the developer, reviews, and download statistics of the programs.
