Russian X-101 Missile Strikes Bedroom in Kyiv Region, Mother and Daughter Survive

Ракетний удар у спальні на Київщині: Мати з донькою залишились живими.

Massive Strike Targets Kyiv Region

In a major overnight assault on the Kyiv region, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on March 14, killing 5 people and causing severe damage to critical infrastructure, particularly in the Obukhiv district. A Russian X-101 missile that failed to detonate was discovered in Vasylkiv after it pierced the bedroom of a private home. A 19-year-old woman and her mother were sleeping in the room at the moment of impact; both survived, though the building sustained significant damage. These strikes are part of a pattern of attacks on civilian areas that have intensified in recent months.

Serhii Bolvinov, head of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kyiv region, confirmed that missile fragments landed in the bedroom and another warhead struck the roof of a car in the yard. Police secured the evacuation of the family, and explosive ordnance disposal experts were dispatched to the impact site.

'The area is now under police guard – another warhead landed on the roof of a car in the yard. Specialists are working to neutralize them.' Serhii Bolvinov

Infrastructure Damage from the Attack

The mass attack resulted in serious damage to the energy infrastructure of the Kyiv region, leaving thousands of people without power. Impacts were also recorded on residential houses, schools, and civilian enterprises. The Obukhiv district suffered the most, where the situation remains difficult. The ongoing conflict has repeatedly targeted Ukraine's power grid, causing widespread disruption.

This assault is part of the continuing conflict in Ukraine, which has been marked by regular shelling of civilian objects, including residential areas and infrastructure. The rising number of casualties and destruction threatens the safety of local residents and complicates the humanitarian situation in the region. Authorities continue to work on restoring electricity and ensuring the population's security.
