Flamingo missiles struck the Russian GRAU missile arsenal near Volgograd

On the night of February 12, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a series of strikes on key military facilities in Russia. In particular, one of the largest missile and ammunition storage arsenals in the Kotluban area of Volgograd region was hit. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the results of the attack. 

According to military sources, the strike targeted an arsenal for the comprehensive storage of missiles, ammunition, and explosives of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Flamingo missiles and damage to the GRAU arsenal

As reported by the General Staff, the strike was carried out in the Kotluban area of Volgograd region. The affected facility belongs to the storage system of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate and is considered one of the largest in the structure of the Russian army. Ukrainian FP-5 "Flamingo" missiles were used for the attack. The extent of the damage is being clarified.

Strikes on military facilities in Russia and occupied territories

In addition to the arsenal, a factory in Michurinsk, which produces high-tech equipment for aviation and missile systems, was also under attack. Preliminary reports indicate that a fire occurred at the site.

Ammunition depots of the enemy in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region were also hit, particularly in the areas of the village of Terpinnya and near Rozivka.

Confirmed targets of the strike:

  • GRAU missile and ammunition arsenal in Kotluban;
  • Missile and aviation enterprise in Michurinsk;
  • Ammunition depots in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region;
  • Infrastructure facilities of the Volgograd oil refinery, damaged the day before.

 

The General Staff reminded that on February 11, key primary oil processing units were incapacitated due to a strike on the Volgograd oil refinery.

Let us remind you, the Ukrainian "Flamingo" missile turned out to be more powerful than the American "Tomahawk".
