Space Station Captures Dramatic Footage of Kyiv Under Missile Attack

Космічна станція зафіксувала вражаючі кадри обстрілу Києва ракетами.

Video from the International Space Station

A unique video recorded from the International Space Station (ISS) shows a Russian missile attack on Kyiv during the night of December 26-27, 2025. The footage, which captures both the incoming strikes and the work of Ukrainian air defense systems, was shared online by 'Hlavkom' and originates from the YouTube channel 'AstronautiCAST'. This perspective from orbit provides a stark, wide-angle view of the conflict's intensity.

Large-Scale Assault on Ukraine

During that night, Russia launched a major assault on Ukraine, employing a significant arsenal:

  • Ten ballistic missiles, including 'Iskander-M' and 'Kinzhal' types
  • Thirty cruise missiles, among them Kh-101, 'Iskander-K', and Kh-22 models

Images captured by the 'Timelapse' satellite underscore the severity of the attack and the impressive efforts of Ukrainian air defenses to intercept the incoming threats.

This video serves as crucial evidence of the ongoing aggression in the region and the actions of Ukrainian forces to defend their airspace.

The situation in Ukraine remains tense, with persistent threats from Russia. The ISS footage highlights the continued need for international support as the country defends its sovereignty. Such documentation is valuable not only as a historical record but also for shaping public awareness and international policy regarding the conflict. It is a rare instance of warfare being observed from the vantage point of a platform dedicated to peaceful scientific cooperation.
