European countries may deploy troops in Ukraine - this opinion was expressed by former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen in his interview with DW. According to him, this is necessary to ensure the security of the country in the context of a potential peace agreement and to deter Russia from further aggression.

'The most effective and cost-efficient way to ensure Ukraine's security is to grant it NATO membership. But for now, there is none, so countries must guarantee Ukraine's security in a similar way, close to the guarantees provided by Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty,'
- emphasized Rasmussen.

The plan also includes training Ukrainian troops, boosting the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and deploying European troops in the country with support from American intelligence and other forms of support.

Countries' readiness to send troops

According to the expert, about ten countries have already expressed their readiness to send troops to Ukraine. The first stage of the plan involves supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine through training and personnel reinforcement, as well as receiving support from the USA through intelligence sharing, border control, and military equipment supplies.

These steps reflect the growing support for Ukraine from European countries and the USA in the context of the escalating conflict with Russia, which may have important implications for the security of the region.
