How the State Emergency Service Operated from August 10 to 17
Between August 10 and 17, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) carried out 8,341 deployments to handle emergency situations across the country. During that period, they extinguished 3,567 fires, with 2,705 of them occurring in natural ecosystems.
Key Outcomes of the Rescue Efforts
The most significant achievement was saving 533 people. In addition, SES crews managed to shield from the flames:
- 341 buildings and structures;
- 40 pieces of equipment.
These figures highlight the intense operational tempo of firefighting units and their role in protecting communities.
This data underscores the growing strain on emergency services as wildfires become more frequent, especially in natural areas, which can be driven by climate conditions and human activity. The professional response not only saves lives but also protects property and the environment, which remains essential for public safety.
