New Application Category A3.4: 'Loss of Paid Employment'
The Register of Damages for Ukraine has launched a fresh claim category, A3.4, titled 'Loss of Paid Employment.' It applies to anyone who held a job before February 24, 2022, or after that date and then lost it due to Russia's internationally wrongful acts. As a result, both people working under employment contracts and self-employed individuals can now seek compensation.
Applicants may include employees who had an oral or written labor contract and received wages or other remuneration. Independent workers who performed professional or individual business activities without formal registration as a private entrepreneur (FOP) are also eligible. The claim can cover lost income, such as unpaid salary, compensation, bonuses, benefits, and other payments.
For registered individual entrepreneurs, there is a separate category, A3.5, 'Loss of Private Entrepreneurship.' A3.4 is now open for filings, with detailed information posted on the Register of Damages for Ukraine's website.
