Two young men trying to appropriate funds from military personnel through illegal border crossing into Romania caught the attention of prosecutors from the Obolon District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv. One of them even used the social media platform TikTok to advertise his services.
For a payment of $6500, the suspects promised to assist soldiers in avoiding checkpoints in Transcarpathia and reaching Romania. Among the promised advantages were detailed instructions, a route map, and online support.
However, during the transaction, one of the offenders was apprehended.
Both suspects are now charged with organizing the illegal transportation of individuals across the border of Ukraine for selfish motives. Details can be found on the press service of Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office website.
