On the night of Wednesday, July 9, Russian troops struck Ukraine, using a record number of weapon systems. According to the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a total of 741 air attacks were carried out.

Russian troops launched 728 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones. They also used cruise missiles of the 'X-101'/'Iskander-K' type and air-launched ballistic missiles X-47M2 'Dagger'. Ukrainian forces successfully destroyed 718 enemy attack assets.

Lutsk Mayor Igor Polishchuk stated that this nighttime attack was the most massive in the city's history. Head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration Ivan Rudnitsky explained that there were about 50 drones and five missiles in the regional airspace.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky condemned this attack and called for strict sanctions against Russia's oil industry, which finances the country's military actions against Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized the need for joint actions by partners to change Russia's military policy and called for united efforts to achieve peace.

As a result of the massive strike by Russian troops on Ukraine, a significant number of facilities were targeted, but Ukrainian forces managed to repel most of them. The President of Ukraine called for international cooperation and support to counter aggression and achieve peace in the east of the country.
