The Center for Humanitarian Demining successfully held auctions for the demining of agricultural land in Kharkiv region, covering an area of 7,995 hectares. The record application was submitted by LLC 'ADP-AGRO', which already has successful experience in the compensation program – in November, the company was returned more than 3,300 hectares of cleared land in the Barvinkiv community.
The new application was divided into 10 smaller lots ranging from 193 to 1,123 hectares. In total, it is planned to de-mine 1,283 cadastral plots in the Oskil, Barvinkiv, and Balakliia communities of the Izium district. The cost of clearing work based on the auctions amounted to 588.3 million hryvnias.
According to the results of the bidding at three auctions, the operator 'Humanitarian Safety' won. Two more plots will be demined by 'Global Demining'. 'PSM Ukraine', 'Transimpex Demining', 'Ukrainian Demining Services', 'Ukrainian Demining Agency', and 'International Demining Group' won once each at the auctions. The previous average cost of demining per application will amount to 73.6 thousand UAH per hectare.
Most of the cadastral plots within the application, according to survey data, are contaminated with anti-personnel and anti-vehicle mines, unexploded ordnance, leftover munitions, and cluster munitions.
In the Kharkiv region, the application for demining the eternal land space for agriculture has become record-breaking. Auction participants share expectations of success and aim to clear the land of explosive devices, making it safe for further use. We hope that these companies will successfully accomplish their mission and ensure safety for the region's residents.
