Roadwork Underway at the Rava-Ruska Checkpoint
Repair work on the road surface has begun on the Ukrainian side of the Rava-Ruska border crossing and is expected to continue until June 1, 2026. According to the State Border Guard Service (SBGS), the repairs started at 9:00 AM on April 24, 2026. The work is taking place in the service area just before the checkpoint and affects both entry and exit lanes into and out of Ukraine.
As a result, traffic is now operating in a two-way pattern using only a single lane. The SBGS has warned that some minor disruptions to the flow of border crossings may occur during this period.
“Starting at 9:00 AM on April 24, 2026 (and lasting approximately until June 1, 2026), road surface repairs will be carried out in the service area before the Rava-Ruska checkpoint on the Ukrainian side,” the State Border Guard Service stated.
Corruption Scheme for Bringing Foreigners into Ukraine Dismantled
Separately, a corrupt channel used to bring foreigners into Ukraine has been dismantled in Kyiv. The organizer of this scheme was a 33-year-old man. According to reports, the operation involved shell companies and a law firm under his control, which were used to issue work permits for foreign nationals. Members of the group also arranged documents for temporary and permanent residence permits.
Currently, important road improvement work is underway at the Rava-Ruska checkpoint, while authorities in Kyiv have taken action to crack down on corrupt practices that harm the state. These developments highlight ongoing efforts to enhance border infrastructure and combat illegal activities.
