One of the deputy chief engineers of the capital university is under suspicion of embezzling funds intended for the repair of shelters in dormitories. It turned out that after signing two contracts for repair work in May 2023, the volumes and costs of the work were inflated, and some of them were not even completed, although acceptance acts were signed. As a result, the university incurred losses totaling more than 1.2 million UAH.
In particular, in one of the dormitories, plastering and painting of the walls, installation of a toilet and plumbing, as well as other necessary works were not carried out, - said the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
The actions of the suspect were classified under Part 5 of Article 27 Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They also promise to consider the actions of other officials of the university and the leaders of the contracting organization.
As a result of the investigation, it became known that the university suffered losses due to the inflated cost of repair works and their non-fulfillment. The person responsible for this has been charged with a violation of the law, and they may face liability for their actions. A review of the actions of other involved persons has also been announced to establish all the circumstances of this case.
