Mikhail Shteinbock's Forecast for the U.S. Midterm Elections

During an interview with political scientist Yuriy Romanenko, analyst Mikhail Shteinbock predicted a potential defeat for the U.S. Republican Party in the upcoming November midterm elections. He suggested there is a possibility the party could lose its majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

According to the analyst, President Donald Trump's average approval rating stands at -10 points, indicating growing voter dissatisfaction.

"It is already obvious that the Republicans are losing the elections in November. The only question is the scale of the disaster—whether they will lose both chambers or just the lower house. Support for the Republican Party is falling, and the gap is now beyond the margin of statistical error. And this gap is growing," said Mikhail Shteinbock.

Impact on Party Strategy

Furthermore, he expressed doubts about a potential impeachment of Trump should Republicans lose control of both chambers.

"If the Republicans lose both chambers, well, I doubt they will impeach Trump. But it will be the same story as last time," stated Mikhail Shteinbock.

Thus, against the backdrop of declining party support, the situation ahead of the forthcoming elections appears quite tense.

Mikhail Shteinbock's forecasts highlight the serious challenges facing the Republican Party as the midterms approach. Midterm elections in the U.S. often serve as a referendum on the sitting president's party, and Trump's waning popularity could have significant consequences for the GOP's strategy to retain control of the legislative branch. Losing even one chamber could substantially alter the U.S. political landscape and impact future policy and governance decisions. This potential outcome could also influence internal party conflicts and Trump's prospects for a future political career.
