Results of the Ministry of Defense's work in 2025: record drones and growth of domestic production
In 2025, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, summarized the results of the Ministry's work, particularly regarding the increase in Ukrainian weapons production, international support, and funding for combat units. According to official data, 76% of everything that is centrally purchased by the state is bought from Ukrainian manufacturers. This indicates a significant increase in domestic production and support for the national defense industry.
In 2025, a record number of FPV drones were also supplied. In addition, mass deliveries of ground robots and interceptor drones began, confirming the active development of advanced technologies in the military sphere. A mechanism for obtaining unique American weapons has been launched, which contributes to strengthening the arsenal of Ukrainian combat units.
Funding and New Contracts
Funding for combat units has increased 30 times compared to last year, demonstrating the priority of ensuring defense forces. The Ministry of Defense also launched Contract 18-24, and the new contract system stipulates clear terms of service for the Ukrainian military.
