Europe's Concerns

European leaders are outraged by the possibility of a new offensive operation by Russia against Ukraine. Therefore, they are holding meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss security guarantees for the country. This was reported by the publication 'Glavkom' citing Bloomberg.

Sources say that at a Security Council meeting in Toulon last week, German and French officials discussed the issue of deploying Russian troops near Pokrovsk.

As soon as Europe finishes negotiations on the guarantees, leaders will be able to cooperate 'even more intensively' with the US
, said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. He believes that clarity on this issue is necessary for successful negotiations with Putin and Zelensky.

Diplomatic Difficulties

However, a senior European diplomat believes that diplomatic efforts are increasingly stalled due to Russia's intention to carry out a new attack on Ukraine. The publication emphasizes that the Russian offensive campaign has not yet led to significant territorial gains for the Kremlin.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation noted that Russian troops have been active in eastern Ukraine for over a year. Only the Ukrainian army, which inflicts significant losses on the aggressive neighbor, can stop them. A member of parliament criticizes the fortifications built by the Poltava Regional Military Administration in Donetsk region, considering them outdated and ineffective.

After a year of Russian offensive activities in eastern Ukraine, European leaders support important negotiations with Ukraine, trying to ensure the country's security. Diplomatic efforts continue, but against the backdrop of escalating situations, the path to reconciliation is becoming increasingly difficult.
