On the night of August 21, the Russian terrorist army launched an attack on Ukraine using 614 aerial attack means. This is reported by the information from the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as cited by the publication 'Glavkom'.
The Russian attack included the following actions:
- 574 strike drones of the Shahed type and imitation drones from various directions;
- four air-launched ballistic missiles X-47M2 'Kinzhal' from the Lipetsk and Voronezh regions;
- two ballistic missiles 'Iskander-M/KN-23' from the Voronezh region;
- 19 cruise missiles X-101 from the airspace of the Saratov region;
- 14 cruise missiles 'Kalibr' from the Black Sea;
- one missile of an unidentified type from Crimea.
Defense against the aerial attack was carried out using aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
During the air defense operation, 577 aerial targets were destroyed or suppressed:
- 546 enemy drones of the Shahed type and imitators of various types;
- one air-launched ballistic missile X-47M2 'Kinzhal';
- 18 cruise missiles X-101;
- 12 cruise missiles 'Kalibr'.
Hits of missiles and strike drones were recorded at 11 locations, as well as debris falling in three different places.
It should be noted that during this attack, Zakarpattia was also injured. As a result of a missile strike in Mukachevo, a fire broke out, and there are casualties. The city council urges residents to refrain from going outside and to close windows more tightly.
Additionally, Zaporizhzhia was hit twice, resulting in damage to some industrial facilities. Residential buildings were also affected due to the explosion.
Unfortunately, Lviv was also targeted, resulting in casualties and damaged buildings. Fortunately, in Lutsk, no casualties were reported after the strike.
