Ukrainian activist Yana Suvorova received a criminal sentence of 14 years in prison on charges of terrorism. She was accused of espionage and participation in a terrorist group, according to 'Glavkom'.
Suvorova and others were detained in Melitopol, suspected of their connection to Telegram channels used by Russian security forces to collect intelligence and influence local residents. The girl was accused of passing information about a target that was later subjected to a terrorist attack, but there were no casualties.
It is noteworthy that the European Federation of Journalists has called for justice in Suvorova's case and demands the release of Ukrainian media workers who are in Russian captivity.
