A fresh piece of news from Russian football: it turns out that the Russian Football Union continues to receive funding from UEFA, even despite the sanctions imposed on Russian teams. This was revealed by Alexander Dyukov, the head of the RFS, in an interview with Russian journalists.

«We receive funds from UEFA quite regularly. To be honest, I don't remember – 11 million (euros) or how much. They go towards the development of football, infrastructure construction, and the implementation of projects, such as the program «Football in School» and the UFL», - Dyukov said.

Let us remind you that due to Russia's military actions against Ukraine, international organizations have canceled the participation of Russian athletes in their competitions. This means that the Russian national team will miss the opportunity to compete in the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 European Championship, as well as in the Nations League. Furthermore, Russia has been excluded from the qualification for the 2026 World Cup, leading to the fact that they will not be able to participate in the final stage of the tournament.

Ukrainian football officials expressed their outrage and bewilderment regarding the receipt of money by Russian clubs from UEFA, hoping that such practices will be stopped until peace is restored in Donbas.
