Over four years, the Ukrainian labor market has noticeably changed: construction specialties are now among the highest-paid, while laborers and loaders are among the most sought-after by employers. The median salary for facers has increased from 30 to 70 thousand hryvnias. This is reported by Korabelov.info citing data from OLX Work.
What salaries were offered in Ukraine in August 2026
The highest median pay among the listed vacancies was offered to sales department managers – 110 thousand hryvnias. The salary top five also included plasterers with 80 thousand, facers and tilers with 70 thousand, as well as bricklayers with 65 thousand hryvnias.
In August 2022, long-distance truck drivers topped the chart with a median salary of 40 thousand hryvnias. Facers and repair specialists received offers around 30 thousand. Over four years, the pay for facers has increased by 40 thousand hryvnias, or approximately 2.3 times. Such dynamics in construction are also noticeable in other data: salaries for some construction workers have exceeded 70 thousand.
Which workers were most sought after by employers
In terms of job postings in August 2026, the first place was occupied by sellers – 9306 vacancies with a median salary of 24.2 thousand hryvnias. Next were drivers – 8331 vacancies at 40 thousand hryvnias, laborers – 5011 at 30 thousand, loaders – 4848 at 28.5 thousand. For cooks, 3384 vacancies were published with a median of 29.25 thousand hryvnias.
Four years ago, the most postings were for drivers – 4468, sellers – 4340, sales managers – 2319, seamstresses and tailors – 2121, and cooks – 2120. Now, vacancies for sellers have more than doubled, while for drivers – almost doubled.
These figures not only show the growth in salaries but also reflect how the structure of demand has changed: among the leaders are professions where practical skills and readiness for physical work are important. At the same time, the median in vacancies does not guarantee such income for every employee: the offer may depend on experience, region, and working conditions.
