Introduction of the Humanoid Robot Figure 03
On October 9, 2025, Figure unveiled its latest humanoid robot, Figure 03. Designed to withstand prolonged use, this model successfully covered approximately 560 kilometers and took 1.2 million steps over a rigorous nine-day endurance test. According to Figure's CEO, Brett Adcock, the purpose of this demanding trial was to identify any potential issues that might not surface during shorter demonstrations.
Technological Improvements and Practical Applications
Compared to its predecessors, Figure 03 boasts significant upgrades. Its new cameras offer twice the frame rate and reduce latency by four times, while expanding the field of view by 60%. The robot's hands have been enhanced with extra cameras and tactile sensors capable of detecting touch forces as light as three grams. Wireless charging is facilitated by a 2 kW inductive system embedded in the robot's feet.
In May 2026, multiple Figure 03 units were deployed in a parcel sorting operation, collectively working around 200 hours and processing 249,560 shipments. Each robot operated in shifts of three to four hours before being rotated out.
Additionally, on September 30, 2025, Figure announced the retirement of its Figure 02 robots, which had been used at BMW's Spartanburg plant to move metal parts during vehicle assembly. These earlier robots contributed to the production of over 30,000 BMW X3 vehicles.
The introduction of Figure 03 and its successful endurance testing mark a significant advancement for Figure in the field of robotics, with potential to transform industries such as logistics and manufacturing.
The phase-out of Figure 02 models highlights the natural progression of technology, where newer, more capable robots replace older versions. Automating tasks with advanced robotics not only boosts efficiency but also reduces manufacturing costs, which is crucial for maintaining competitiveness in the global market.
