Deferral from mobilization for relatives of missing persons
Relatives of missing persons during the war with Russia have the right to deferment from mobilization, the arrangement of which has become simpler. The main document for obtaining such a deferral is an extract from the Unified Register of missing persons under special circumstances. According to the law 'On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization', close relatives who have lost their loved ones during the war have the right to deferment.
Procedure for arranging the deferral
The procedure for arranging the deferral has been simplified, and it can now be done through the Centers for Administrative Services (CNA) or through the 'Diia' portal. Previously, there was a conflict with the documents in the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution No. 560, however, the list of documents has been brought in line with the law. An extract from the Register is sufficient for arranging the deferral, however, it should be noted that the deferral is not granted automatically — it must be arranged.
Olena Belyachkova emphasized that the status of 'missing under special circumstances' is not established by the court, and the only basis for the deferral is an extract from the Unified Register.
Roman Istomin added that when submitting an application, the conscript must present a military registration document. Now, relatives of missing persons can take advantage of these changes to obtain deferral from mobilization in a simplified manner.
These changes in legislation aim to facilitate the procedure for obtaining deferral for relatives of missing persons, which is an important step in supporting those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances due to the war. The simplification of administrative procedures allows relatives to focus on resolving personal issues related to the loss of loved ones, without additional difficulties in bureaucratic matters.
