Football Stars Release Lego Construction Videos

Global football icons Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappé have each posted videos featuring Lego building sets as the 2026 World Cup approaches. In their clips, both superstars assembled kits from the Football Highlights series, which are designed in the colors of national teams and include jersey numbers, branded nameplates, and mini-figures of the players. The Danish company Lego shared these videos across its social media channels.

In Mbappé's video, he removed Ronaldo's mini-figure from the set and replaced it with his own, captioning the clip:

'Time for a substitution'
. Ronaldo responded by placing his own mini-figure in Mbappé's set, writing:
'Fixed it'
. These playful gestures highlight the friendly rivalry between the two athletes.

The 2026 World Cup

The 2026 World Cup marks a historic first, expanding to 48 national teams. For the first time, the tournament will be hosted by three countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Matches will take place across 16 cities, with the opening game scheduled for June 11 in Mexico City, where Mexico will face South Africa. The final is set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA. A total of 104 matches will be played, including 72 group-stage games divided into twelve groups of four.

In Ukraine, Megogo has been named the official broadcaster of the 2026 World Cup. The platform will exclusively stream all matches, providing commentary in Ukrainian. Megogo has also announced over 90 pre- and post-match studio shows, with all games available through its Sport and Megopack subscriptions. Select matches—including the opener, two quarterfinals, both semifinals, the third-place playoff, and the final—will be broadcast free of charge on the Megogo Sport channel via T2 and cable networks.

This World Cup promises to be unforgettable, with its expanded format and broad access for viewers in Ukraine. The inclusion of 48 teams opens new opportunities for football nations, while the tri-country hosting adds a unique international dimension. Given football's immense popularity in Ukraine, Megogo's coverage is expected to engage a wide audience and boost support for the national team. Advances in streaming technology will also allow fans to enjoy the matches in whichever way suits them best.
